The Deal That Was Too Good to Be True
As Darren entered the store, he was immediately struck by the chaos. Shoppers were rushing from aisle to aisle, eager to grab the best discounts before everything sold out. The air was filled with the sound of excited chatter and the frantic rustle of sale papers.
He knew exactly where he needed to go: the electronics aisle. When he arrived, he was greeted by the sight of a huge sign reading “50% OFF all gaming consoles.” Darren could hardly believe his eyes. He had never seen such a sale, especially for the latest PlayStation. He quickly grabbed a box off the shelf, excited that he was about to make the perfect purchase for his kids. But just as he was about to head to the checkout, something caught his eye.
A second sign just above the gaming consoles read, “Buy 1, Get 2 Free.” Darren thought he must be seeing things. He blinked several times, convinced that the sign couldn’t be real. “Buy one and get two free?” he muttered to himself, wondering if it was some sort of error. But the sign was clear, and after a brief moment of hesitation, Darren decided to test his luck.
He grabbed three consoles, thinking, “Even if they don’t honor the deal, I’ll still be getting one at half off. It’s worth the risk.”
