The Asian black bear, also known as the Asiatic black bear or the moon bear, is a medium-sized bear species found across Asia. These bears are endangered, primarily due to poaching for their medicinal body parts. The fact that Amy’s family had unknowingly adopted one was terrifying. But what was even more shocking was the fact that the pet store had been selling these wild animals, passing them off as domesticated dogs.
In China, there are strict laws protecting endangered species. The authorities quickly stepped in, and the family had no choice but to say their final goodbyes to their beloved Blackie. It was heartbreaking, but at least they knew the bear would be in a safe environment now.
