Police arrived within minutes. Eve convinced a terrified Mr. Brown that he was safe to speak.
Dr. Jordan laughed when he saw the officers.
“This is ridiculous! This nurse is just jealous of my success. She’s lying, and this senile old man doesn’t know where he is!”
Eve didn’t shout. She simply held up her phone and pressed PLAY.
The doctor’s vile threats echoed through the silent hallway for everyone—including the police—to hear.
The smug smile vanished from Jordan’s face. Officers handcuffed him right in front of the hospital staff. He screamed that he would destroy Eve’s career, but she stood her ground.
“You destroyed yourself, Doctor,” she said.
Dr. Jordan lost his medical license and went to prison. Mr. Brown got his surgery from a different doctor and recovered. And Eve? she became a local hero for proving that the truth is more important than a reputation.
