The Secret Deal
One night, Harold called Julia into his study. “I know what people will think if I ask this of you,” he said, his voice weak. “But I need your help.”
He explained that he had written a foundation in his late wife’s name — one that would provide education for underprivileged children. The problem? His estranged relatives, who were only interested in his wealth, were trying to take control of his estate.
“If I pass unmarried, everything I’ve built will go to them,” he told Julia. “But if I marry you, I can ensure it goes where it belongs — to the children who need it.”
