Just as I thought the situation couldn’t get worse, something incredible happened. The pilot, Captain Hayes, stepped out of the cockpit. The murmur in the cabin immediately stopped. It was like the whole plane held its breath in anticipation. Cynthia barely looked up, her icy demeanor still intact, while Richard remained completely indifferent.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Captain Hayes began in a voice that commanded attention, his eyes locking onto Cynthia and Richard, “This needs to be settled now.”
